Our Governance

At Bangladeshi Students Association UK (BSA UK), governance is rooted in transparency, care, and shared responsibility. As a non-profit student wellbeing organisation, we are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for Bangladeshi students across the UK.
Our leadership framework ensures that every decision is guided by our mission to promote student wellbeing, community engagement, cultural pride, and personal development.

Our Governance Structure

BSA UK operates under two key leadership bodies that work together to uphold our values and deliver our mission:

1. Governing Board

The Governing Board provides strategic direction and oversees the ethical and responsible functioning of BSA UK. Composed of experienced individuals from diverse backgrounds, the board ensures that our organisation remains focused, accountable, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide long-term vision and strategic guidance
  • Review and approve organisational policies
  • Ensure financial and operational accountability
  • Safeguard the mission and values of BSA UK
  • Offer mentorship and support to the Executive Team

The Governing Board plays a vital role in shaping the future of BSA UK and upholding the trust of our members and partners.

 2. Executive Team

The Executive Team is responsible for the planning and execution of BSA UK’s day-to-day activities, events, and programmes. This includes student outreach, community engagement, communications, and partnership building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver wellbeing programmes, campaigns, and support services
  • Organise events and initiatives that reflect our cultural and academic goals
  • Engage and support students from different regions and institutions
  • Manage internal communications, logistics, and operations
  • Build partnerships with societies, universities, and external organisations

The Executive Team works collaboratively to ensure BSA UK stays dynamic, responsive, and effective in serving the student community.

Governance in Practice

Our approach to governance is inclusive, transparent, and participatory. We believe that effective leadership is built on trust, collaboration, and consistency. To that end, we:

  • Hold regular internal meetings to assess progress and strategy
  • Maintain open channels for student feedback and input
  • Conduct periodic reviews of policies, finances, and impact
  • Prioritise ethical conduct, accountability, and respect in every area of work

Our Commitment

Governance at BSA UK is more than a structure—it is a promise. A promise to act with integrity, listen to our community, and serve with purpose. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to making decisions that reflect the needs, voices, and wellbeing of the students we support.

Together, we lead with care, act with purpose, and grow with our community.
